Data drives surge in telecoms revenue

TOTAL postal and telecommunication revenue grew 11,2% to $1,15 billion in 2017 driven by an upsurge in the consumption of data and internet in the country. The growth in the consumption of data and internet was buoyed by an increase in over the top (OTT) services. In 2016, total revenue by postal and telecommunication players was $1,02 billion. Telecoms trio win big at Zimpapers awards


Liquid Telecoms, NetOne and ZOL were the biggest winners at the inaugural Zimpapers’ Telecoms Awards that were held on Tuesday night. NetOne was voted the overall best mobile network operator while ZOL was the overall best internet service provider and Liquid Telecoms obtained overall best internet access provider.
