The Zanu PF National Youth League is confident of a landslide victory in the forthcoming polls buoyed by the astute and charismatic leadership principles enunciated by Ppresident Emmerson Mnangagwa.
The Zanu PF youths, who held a two-day inaugural assembly, said the party had suffered a huge blow under the misguided leadership of former president Robert Mugabe and former First Lady Grace Mugabe.
The national assembly was a departure from the previous hellish youth interface rallies which was a platform for bludgeoning perceived enemies of the former first family.
This is the view shared by the current youth leadership, which said the party is now reinvigorated following the ascendance of President Mnangagwa to the helm of the revolutionary party.
“The party is now on track and re-energised to convincingly beat its opponents in a free fair and credible election. We will deliver nothing short of victory,” said Cde Pupurai Togarepi, the party’s Secretary for Zanu PF Youth Affairs.
The youths accused the former first family of attempting to continue meddling in the affairs of the party and they say they are fast losing respect for them.
Preparations for the 2018 harmonised polls are intensifying and all parties are putting their act in place to win the hearts and minds of the electorate.
Parties are now approximately numbering a staggering 90 and are all promising to give their all.
The polls, which President Mnangagwa has pledged will be free, fair and credible, will be open to local, regional and international observers.
